I enquired online to hire a road for the following day, nothing like leaving things until the last moment.
No road bikes were available at the Salò store so I phoned and was promised one would be there in the morning and was instructed how to book it.
True to their word, it was there.
I gave them my seat height when I booked and it was set perfectly, I bought my own pedals, shoes and bidon, the bike I hired had a power meter and Garmin mount.
I was asked where I was planned to ride and an alteration to my planned route was suggested and I’m glad I followed that suggestion.
Genuine interest was also shown when I returned the bike.
The bike worked well, it was set in a fairly relaxed position, the bars not slammed too much, the gearing matched the terrain and I didn’t get off once.
Along with a spare tube, it was good to see a pump attached, something missing on other rentals and a bit of a must if you do puncture.
All in all, a faultless experience.
