I can only give my best recommendations for Amici Bici, if you're looking to rent a bike during a stay in the Sanremo area.

They were very accommodating and focused on getting me a bike that suited me in terms of size and setup.

The bike was very nice quality. It was perfect for a ride to Liguaria, as well as riding the Cipressa and Poggio.

Price was very fair, but first and foremost, the service was excellent. I can't praise it enough.

I had originally planned on bringing my own bike for next few visits, but with Amici Bici I can have a great bike for a fair price, and withou the hassle of bringing my own bike through the airport.

I had a last minute request for a road bike hire for a few hours to ride the legendary Cipressa and Poggio climbs. Katherine was very communicative and arranged to meet me at the marina. Pick up and drop off were timely and convenient and being able to pay by card was super convenient whilst meeting in the marina car park. I would definitely recommend hiring from Amici Bici if you are in the area and need a bike.

Super nice experience to rent the bikes with these guys. The road bikes were really well equipped (carbon fiber) and also with a complete tool bag. They were very flexible when it came to picking up and returning the bikes. It was a pleasure!

We enjoyed a few days riding with Katharine in summer 2023. It was wonderful, and I highly recommend. We came from a week of climbing on Mallorca, and really enjoyed our time in Sanremo after. Katherine took care of everything - airport transfers, lodging recommendation, restaurant suggestions, bikes…. Everything worked out great. We stayed in an apartment at the beach, spent some time at a beach club after riding, and had many good restaurants to choose among. You won’t go wrong.

I had a great experience with Amici Bici over in San Remo. They were very friendly, able to accommodate my requests (For carbon wheels and spd pedals) easily and nothing was a problem for them. They even picked me up from the train station and gave plenty of good advice. I can only recommend them - the bikes themselves are super high quality. I rode mine in the Challenge San Remo Triathlon which included a challenging climb up the Poggio but it was no problem on the bikes they hire out. Definitely be coming back once I get a few more days of leave!

Katherine was super helpful and my husband and son had two exceptional bikes for the holiday. Katherine is also very knowledgeable of the local routes and came to my rescue when i had a small issue and met me mid ride to resolve. Will definitely use Amici Bici again and recommend to anyone.

It was a delight renting bikes from Katharine! She was super helpful and could even help us out with extra pair of shoes and helmets. All the gear was of great quality, incl carbon bikes. We did a hike from Sanremo to the top of Mount Bignone and then on to the picturesque village of Bajardo. The route was amazing, mainly through various forest terrains with fantastic viewpoints across the mountains and the villages dotted around, and down to the sea. We also had the most amazing meal in a local Bajardo restaurant before taking the bus back down to Sanremo.
Katharine is a great guide. She is very passionate and has so much knowledge about the region, it's history and local culture. She gave us plenty of tips on things to do and places to eat etc. We will definitely do another hike with her to explore other mountain villages when we are back.

My son and I had a great day cycling together with amicibici Katharine. Rented two bikes and a guide and cycled about 60km, from Ventimiglia to San Remo and of course we climbed to Poggio. A-must-do if you really want to experience the beauty of cycling in Italy.

We did 60km with Katherine from Sanremo to Dolceacqua and Rocchetta Nervina (and back). It's clear she knows the area like the back of her hand and was able to play tour guide in the towns as well, recommending short walking tours and a great lunch spot. It seems like she usually does longer rides with her guests (she mentioned multi-day tours averaging 100+ km/day), but while we're avid road cyclists at home, we were more interested in the sightseeing aspect here. The sights and smells (herbs! flowers!) of Liguria are much better absorbed on bike and it was a wonderful day with her. The bikes we rode were full carbon (felt lighter than my carbon bike at home), custom built and painted for Amici with Shimano 105 or better groupsets. I can wholeheartedly recommend Amici Bici for a great road cycling adventure.

Kat and Gavin are excellent cycle guides! They adopt to you regardless of your own strength as a cyclist.The ride they offer you are worth every cent. I rode with them twice in the San Remo mountains and I had one of my most epic cycle moments. Kat and Gavin are very friendly and they also gave me

Just had a super roughly 100 K ride with the wonderful Gav + Kat, including a lovely climb. I can't wait for my next adventure with these lovely people. Really, a beautiful experience in a stunning environment with kind and skilful guides. Could not recommend this more highly. PS I had another two rides with these good people, so three in total during my vacation. Took vacation to a much higher level! Each ride was more awesome than the other two :) missing the mountains, the sun and my new friends.

If anyone is considering a trip to Liguria they could not do better than contacting Kat and Gav at Amicibici.
Their knowledge of the region, it's roads and cafes is second to none.
Being busy we planned a 3 night trip which allowed us to get 4 days quality riding in. We rode from Nice airport to San Remo, took in the last 50k of Milan san Remo, headed into the hills and had another blast along the coast.
I racked up over 250 quality miles and enjoyed every one of them. A lot of the time we saw more cyclists than cars! We rode through some stunning towns and villages in the mountains, Dolceaqua being a personal highlight.
Having ridden a lot in Mallorca- which I thought was the ultimate cycling destination, I have a new favourite, thanks in no small part to Kat and Gav.
I'm already trying to work out when I can get back and I know who I'll be contacting to show me more amazing roads and stunning scenery.

I would Highly recommend this experience. Kat and Gavin are fantastic riders and very friendly people with wonderful hospitality. They have an intricate knowledge of the roads. Cafes. Water stops. Castles and villages. I was able to ride and have fun and focus on the majestic scenery without having to worry about getting lost. They knew just where to stop for the best pictures. They helped me rent a high-end full carbon bike that was perfect for climbing. At one point in the ride my rear derailleur wasn’t working properly and they were able to adjust it in a few minutes and we kept riding. I really enjoyed their company on the ride and it made for one the most special days I’ve ever had on a bike. Cheers! Ted
