The Vesuvio Drive company was very responsive to a last minute request—less than 24 hours—for bikes and a driver to take us from our hotel to the bike shop. One of the staff drove our grandma to Vesuvius National Park. We e-biked to Vesuvius crater, which was a somewhat challenging ride, but we had gorgeous views of Naples Bay. Highly recommend!

This was a really fun, unique experience! I contacted them because I felt their shop was really out of the way and difficult to get to via public transport of any kind. They arranged for a driver to pick the eight of us up at the train station as well as get us tickets to the crater- which were sold out when I tried to get them online. We did have a couple of bike problems, but nothing that ruined the trip. One bike failed on us on our way to Strada Matrone, but they were able to get a new one quickly. The hind brakes on another bike stopped working on the way down (which is VERY steep), but the front brakes worked fine and we were able to get down by just going a bit slow. The walk up to the crater was longer and steeper than I thought it would be, but we are all able bodied- I’m guessing it’s somewhere around 2 miles from where you leave the bikes. There was almost no one on the path, which was so nice after several days around crowds. The blooming Jupiter’s beard and broom was so lovely with the beautiful view!

It is an amazing experience to ride a bike to Mount Vesuvius. The service is at a very high level. Very good care during the trip and contact at any time. And the bike is nice and functional. I highly recommend this rental company

Great communication ahead of our ride day. On arrival we had clear instructions on the route, super support of the bikes from a very friendly team. The bikes have plenty of power to get you up the amazing Strada Matrone to start a breath taking hike to the crater of Mount Vesuvius.

We initially booked this tour via Get Your Guide. Since we booked a bit too last-minute, entry tickets for the crater could no longer be guaranteed. Nevertheless, we were able to rent the e-bikes without any issues.

Taking the e-bikes for the ascent makes perfect sense and is a lot of fun, especially since the path leading up is paved. Additionally, this side of the mountain seems to be less crowded with tourists, which we highly recommend. I would definitely do it this way again next time. The ride up is great fun and offers breathtaking views.
