We had a fabulous experience working with Mapo Bike and the owner Christian Martinelli. I brought 11 buddies to Bolzano and Bormio and contracted with him to rent us 6 high end road bikes and to support us with his van while we did all the big rides in the region. We did Sella Ronda, Passo Nigra, Passo Stelvio, and Passo Gavia plus a few filler rides. All of this was coordinated from the US ahead of time, so we didn’t meet him until our first ride.

Christian was awesome. He had 6 excellent bikes. Most were Scott Addict with Shimano Ultegra and a smallest gear of 34-34 for the mountains, which was perfect. He arrived on time, supported us well with both nutrition and mechanical issues, and we had a few issues that he was quickly able to resolve. And he is a very nice and friendly guy who speaks English very well.

We also met his Dad Aurelio who supported us one day. Equally friendly and enthusiastic, although his English was a little weak.

Highly, highly recommend Mapo Bike. Our experience with Christian was truly excellent.

Acquistato un caso kask ultimo modello,si è staccata subito la rotella stringicasco posteriore.
Riportato in negozio in giornata, c’è l’hanno trattenuto…sono quasi due mesi che attendiamo sostituzione senza le telefonate che abbiamo fatto

Buongiorno signora Caterina, siamo molto dispiaciuti per l’inconveniente che si è verificato, purtroppo la sostituzione della parte difettosa non dipende da noi ma dalla ditta distributrice, visto l’inconveniente del difetto le abbiamo proposto nell’immediato il cambio colore (purtroppo il colore scelto da lei era l’ultimo) ma non ha accettato, come non ha accettato la sostituzione con altri articoli. Il casco è stato acquistato il 15/07, non esattamente due mesi fa come recensito da lei, inoltre ci siamo sentiti tre volte al telefono per rassicurarla sul fatto che le avrei spedito il casco a casa non appena avessimo ricevuto la parte da sostituire dalla ditta…come le ho ripetuto più volte al telefono, le tempistiche non dipendono da noi… Le siamo venuti incontro come meglio potevamo, ci dispiace non abbiate compreso certe dinamiche… cordialmente, team MAPO BIKE

In Bormio for a tough 7-day tour (450 miles/50,000 ft. Bike case did not show up and I am scrambling to find a rental, shoes helmet, cycle computer. I always ride with powermeter and HR monitor to help me monitor how my repaired aortic valve is functioning. Mapo is the only shop with Garmin power pedals — 1000 USD. I tell the guy to set aside shimano SPD-SL compatible box and my wife would pick up. My wife arrives Friday late Friday afternoon. She sees the SPD box on the counter and grabs it. Clerk says no, that is for display. He reaches up into a cabinet and hands her another box. She gets to our apartment, box says Look keo compatible. Won’t work as I use shims under my cleats and Look won’t accommodate shims.

No problem, tour leaves Sunday, I will go Saturday and correct the stores mistake. Show up Saturday for regular store hours. store posted they had decided to close until Monday. So I am out of luck for swap.

I leave Sunday for tour without power pedals and my wife goes to the store on Monday to return the wrong pedals the clerk gave her for a refund.

NO WAY SAID THE OWNER. WE SHOULD HAVE COME EARLIER. I SHOULD HAVE JUST USED THE PEDALS WITHOUT SHIMS. I SHOULD HAVE SKIPPED MY FIRST DAY AND COME IN MONDAY. HE YELLED, SCREAMED WITHIN SPITTING DISTANCE OF MY WIFE. TOLD HER TO CALL THE POLICE.

Brutal service. Never gave us our money back for their mistake.

There are several great bike shops in Bormio. All of them were super helpful getting me set up for my tour without my bike case. This guy at Mapo is the opposite of what cycling is all about. Avoid if you can.
