Great service, and great advices on what to see on the Via Appia! The bikes were very confortable.
Genuinely nice people.
It’s a good starting point to rent a bike and enjoy 1 or 2 hour ride coz less cars here and there’s lovely cafe next to it.
Excellent service.
Very nice experience, people were really welcoming and provided the right insights. We recommend the e-bike
We reserved ebikes ahead of time, and it was easy enough to pick them up. The attendant was helpful and spoke good English. He even set us up with a phone holder on the bike and a Google Maps recommended route so we could self-navigate. The recommended route was beautiful and takes you off the literal Appian Trail road and into surrounding country, past farms with animals and parks and an aqueduct. It was beautiful and we enjoyed it so much, but I would not advise this route for people who aren’t fit and don’t feel comfortable on bikes. It gets into slightly intense mountain biking at points, and at other parts you’re crossing busy roads with no bike lanes or shoulders. Definitely not for children or for the faint of heart.
A faire !
How should I start? 🌝
After 2 days visiting all the famous places in Rome, I was really tired of all the noise, and crowds, and rush, and cars trying to "kill" me!
So finding this bike shop was a blessing!
To get there from the termini, I took a metro + bus, around 40 min.
The shop is just across the bus stop and had a toilet I could use. There's also a bar next to it, so it's easy to get refreshments.
The attendence was super nice and he spoke in English with me, which helped a lot.
He explained the route and gave me advice about it.
I got the mountain bike (not electric) and it had a basket in the front to store my small backpack.
The price was affordable for me, since I'm travelling on a budget (5 euro first hour + 3 euro extra hour). They accept card and money. And the helmet was included.
I had to leave one document with them.
The path (around 10km) I chose was an historical road full of old tombs, very beautiful and it's not exactly easy to ride, because it's made of stone, but no crazy cars!
During my journey, I bumped with the owner and he's also very friendly, we talked a lot and he recommended to go to the aqueducts.
To/from there I had to cross my path with cars, but it was not that bad and the place itself was nice.
It's sad that Rome doesn't have more bike lanes...
I didn't ask if they had a bike locker and a phone holder, but I missed this one, especially when I tried to memorize the route, but ended up going the 'wrong' way. A good adventure indeed 😂
I had a nice day outside the center of Rome, so if you like to bike and want some adventure, I recommend this shop.
I can leave Rome with such a good memory!
Sorry but I have no photos, I was enjoying the place with my two eyes 😄
If you read until here, you're beautiful 🤣
Have an amazing day!
We had a great experience here. Alejandro was very helpful to us and spoke good English. The bikes were in good condition and very affordable at €5 for the first hour. Thoroughly enjoyed this ride along a fabled road.
It's a very small store/snack bar, bicycle rental place.
This place is nearest the original appian way. When I was there(2021) I had my choice of 4 bikes. I was delighted to see the real appian stone road with The ruts made by 2000 years of traffic. Biking it was another story entirely. I think I made it about a mile and a half when I gave up. (Found a nice cluster of kitties outside of military base). It was still worth it though. 5euro 1st hr, 3euro each hr after. It was a very long walk back to the nearest bus stop. But the snack bar fortified me with a delicious strudel. 3.50 euro after negotiations.
It said 7pm here, but we have been refused at the entrance at 5:45pm,even for 1h bike rental. , saying it's closed We traveled 1h from the city centered for this... The service may be great, when you can actually have it. Really deceived.
