Wir waren gestern auf Asinara und haben bei Herculis 2 e-bikes gemietet. Wir haben noch nie so schlechte, alte, verrostete und eigentlich fahruntüchtige Räder angeboten bekommen.
Durch die Monopolstellung auf der Insel hat man aber keine andere Möglichkeit und so haben wir uns darauf eingelassen. Zum Beispiel ist alle paar km die elektrische Unterstützung ausgefallen, die Bremsen waren sehr schwergäng, usw.
Die Bilder sprechen für sich und ich hoffe, dass mit meinem post andere gewarnt sind

Book ahead or beware!

We arrived at Cala Reale, first off the ferry and first in line at Hercules to rent bikes. There were six left (two reserved). Together with two Italian girls behind us (also without a booking) we were told in English that no bikes were available. Yet we overheard the vendor in Italian saying he would give them bikes once we had left, and walked away. Not long after, they passed us cycling on the island. The vendor seemed more interested in impressing them than in treating customers fairly.

What felt most disappointing was not that we had no reservation, but the lack of honesty. Instead of explaining clearly, the vendor chose to mislead us. For a company welcoming visitors from around the world, this is not a respectful way to operate, and certainly not the example Asinara deserves.

Our advice: book ahead, but if you value fair and transparent service, look elsewhere. Rentals on the mainland are not only cheaper but also offered with more integrity.

Despite this experience, Asinara itself was wonderful and we had a truly memorable day enjoying a great hike!

Wir wollten zwei Fahrräder mieten. Da unsere Visa Debitkarte als Kaution nicht akzeptiert wurde, sollten wir 200€ Kaution PRO Fahrrad hinterlegen. Wir hatten aber keine 400€ in bar dabei und auf die 160€, die wir dabei hatten, wollte sich der Besitzer nicht einlassen. Er war sehr unfreundlich dabei.
Mietet die Fahrräder lieber in Stintino im Ort. Da bezahlt man weniger und muss keine Kaution hinterlegen. Die Bikes dort sind auch hochwertiger.

Amazing experience! We got two bikes as soon as we got off the boat, Giommaria was super kind and helpful to not only set up the bikea properly but also to give us guidance on the islands history and even called us in the afternoon to ensure we got back in time for our boat. You should definitely take the bike on the island itself, as otherwise you won’t be able to get any support and also take it back on the boat. Card payment possible and many English speaking people. Maybe consider to make a reservation for the bikes upfront during high season. Definitely the best way to discover the island as it gives you much more flexibility, better options and speed! Absolute must-do, we’d be glad to come back soon.

Ein must-do wenn man nach asinara fährt. Man kann die Insel auf viele Arten erkunden aber mit dem Fahrrad ist es am Besten. Es war eine super Erfahrung. Wir hatten tolle bikes und der Mitarbeiter ist sehr nett.
Am Besten die Fahrräder eine Woche vor dem Trip reservieren, weil es sehr beliebt ist. Wir hatten Glück. Als wir ankamen waren noch Fahrräder ohne Reservierung verfügbar, weil zuvor Leute abgesagt haben.

Prima esperienza con una e-bike, a dir poco fantastica. Il ragazzo che ci ha noleggiato le bici molto cordiale, simpatico ed esaustivo..il prezzo vale assolutamente l esperienza, fatta in bici l Asinara è meravigliosa, esperienza che assapori a pieno e la pedalata assistita è il top per fare tutti e 25 i km.. consigliatissimo

No alquiléis una bicicleta en la isla, llevadla directamente en el ferry. Tuvimos una pésima experiencia con ellos, si tienen la oportunidad se aprovecharán de vosotros.

Son el único alquiler de bicis en la isla, con lo cual cobran 40€ por 6h de alquiler de bicicleta (x2). A la ida todo bien, pero a la vuelta empieza el show. A una de las dos bicis que alquilamos se le salió la cadena y se quedó enganchada en la corona. Tardamos mucho en poder arreglarla y al cabo de un rato se le estropeó el cambio. Ya habíamos perdido demasiado tiempo y íbamos muy justos para la salida del ferry de vuelta.

Cuando encontramos cobertura llamamos a la empresa para que vinieran a buscarnos. En ese momento pasó un tren turístico que llevaba a toda la gente de vuelta al Puerto. La chica del tren nos sugirió amablemente dejar las bicis a un lado de la carretera en un lugar seguro y bajar con ellos para no perder el ferry, obviamente avisando a la empresa de las bicis donde se quedaban, ya que debían subir a buscarlas de todas formas porque una no funcionaba, y así hicimos, mandándoles la ubicación.

Aunque no quedaba ya nadie en la isla, nos amenazaron con cobrarnos el socorro (50€) más 80€ por bicicleta, y nos hizo bajarnos del tren turístico y volver a pie hasta donde estaban las bicicletas. Y os recuerdo que la isla estaba ya vacía, que no había a penas cobertura y que tenían la ubicacion de las bicicletas. Nos hizo perder el ferry de vuelta para así encargar a un amigo suyo que viniera a buscarnos en lancha, otros 60€.

Mencionar también que las bicicletas nos dejaron el pantalón a ambos completamente lleno de grasa porque no tienen un cubre corona, y que la empresa de bicis no hizo otra cosa que amenazarnos con cobrarnos aún más diciendo que está en el contrato, cuando el contrato no especifica importes.

Leyendo otras evaluaciones veo que es algo bastante común, y un sobreprecio de 110€ (50€ de socorro +60€ de lancha) sobre los ya caros 80€ por el alquiler de dos bicis durante medio día me confirman que no es más que una trampa para turistas. Viendo otras evaluaciones veo que a otros les han cobrado aún más por el socorro, imagino que irá según tengan el día. La isla preciosa, eso sí, pero llevad vuestras propias bicis, por vuestro bien y el de vuestras carteras. Y llevad efectivo, os hará falta.

Alquilamos dos bicis eléctricas con mi pareja… hicimos más de 60 km! Y con estas bicis casi que ni nos cansamos! Inolvidable el viaje la isla el mar los burros! Es para destacar la atención del chico, sus indicaciones y recomendaciones, el servicio y seguridad dique nos dio con una amabilidad que es bonito de encontrar.
