When I first arrived in Syracuse, I was a bit worried about finding a good rental bike. I love riding and exploring the cities I visit and the surrounding countryside, so having the right bike matters to me. I checked out three shops in the area before coming across Matemonti Tours, and from the moment I walked in, I knew I’d found the right place.

The owner and staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. All of their bikes were new and exceptionally well maintained, and their local knowledge made a huge difference in planning great rides. I rented a bike for a full week, which turned out to be perfect—I logged over 120 kilometers and had an absolute blast.

I’m certain I’ll be back, as there’s still so much more to explore in the area, and there’s no question where I’ll go for a bike next time. Don’t waste your time looking anywhere else for a rental—whether you’re after an electric, mountain, or road bike, they have options for every level of rider. Their accessories are also clean and in excellent condition, and they even offer panniers if you need to carry a load with you.

Auch im Winter kann man Fahrradtouren auf Sizilien machen. Dachte ich mir!
Und Tatsächlich bin ich bei Maremonti Tours fündig geworden. Zwei äußerst Tourentaugliche E Bikes wurden uns für unseren Wintertrip von Catania entlang der Küste nach Palermo Mitte Dezember zusammen mit einer Hotelempfehlung und der ausgearbeiteten Route, samt Garmin Mitte Dezember 2025 zur Verfügung gestellt.
Die Absprache erfolgte reibungslos und der Service vor Ort war hervorragend.
Transport unseres Koffers für den anschließenden Urlaub in Palermo und das Abholen der Bikes waren inklusive.
Die ausgesuchten 4 Sterne Hotels waren hervorragend und alle auf das Laden und sichere Unterbringen von E Bikes vorbereitet.
Die individuell abgestimmte Reise mit Maremonti Tours hat uns sehr gefallen, vielen lieben Dank an Iris und das ganze Team!

We had a fantastic 9 day cycling tour of western Sicily with Maremonti Tours. Sicily is wonderful place to ride - the scenery couldn't be better, the people are very friendly, and the food is great. The tour was really well planned and supported. Iris, owner of Maremonti Tours, rode with us everyday with a support van following us to transport our bags and address any unexpected mechanical problems. We rented bikes from Maremonti and were provided with new Bianchi gravel bikes, which proved to be the perfect bikes for the trip. Based on our experience, I highly recommend Maremonti and would very happily do another tour with them.

I was searching for a three-day bike hire, and the Maremonti (Sea/Mountain) tours website gave me the most confidence. I was looking for a road bike, but none were available in my size at the time. However, I was offered a gravel bike with slick tyres. The gear ratio is lower but still suitable for flat roads and especially the hills.
The communication was clear, straightforward and complete with some must-do routes.
I took my own pedals, had them fitted, was given a large water bottle, went for a test ride and then headed off.
Thanks to Iris and the team, I fully recommend them.

Ottima escursione in bicicletta con Iris, una guida competente ed espertissima, alla scoperta di Sortino, della Valle dell'Anapo e ritorno a Siracusa. Mi è piaciuto seguire la mia guida senza dovermi preoccupare del percorso e godermi solo il paesaggio e il bel tempo. La e-bike era al top. Forse si potrebbe montare ancora un piccolo specchietto retrovisore, che garantirebbe maggiore sicurezza soprattutto sulle strade trafficate. Auguro alla giovane ditta Maremonti tanto successo per il futuro e tanti altri ospiti soddisfatti, altamente raccomandabile!

Our experience was first class, excellent bikes, adjusted to suit us, good equipment (helmets, panniers, lock, everything you might need), flexible timings and very professional management, I recommend them.

I hired a roadbike whilst staying in Ortigia. Very easy process to hire with a good stock of relatively brand new Bianchi bikes. I didn't require tour info as I built my own routes on strava and used my wahoo. I would highly recommend MAremonti tours.

Great bike rental! We rented bikes for five days while visitng Siracusa, and biked around on our own. They also offer guided bike tours of different distances/levels, but we didn’t do one of those.

The bikes were of very good quality. Locks, bags, water bottles and helmets were included. The staff were very friendly, and shared tips on beaches, cycling roads/areas and restaurants. Would definitely recommend renting bikes here!

Great Experience - easy to deal with over WhatsApp/email. Very helpful - kitted me out with a brand new CF frame with road tyres which suited me very well for a couple days of riding in the surrounding area.

They also accommodated my availability, opening up on a Sunday so I could collect the bike and maximise my time in the saddle.

I would definately recommend.

J'ai loué un vélo gravel tout carbone pour deux jours. Iris a été d'une grande aide pour la réservation, puis pour l'organisation du vélo le matin du départ, me fournissant même un support de téléphone. C'était ma première fois sur un vélo gravel, et c'était un vélo fantastique, avec un prix de location extrêmement raisonnable.

Je suis allé à Raguse avec nuitée et je suis revenu. J'avais discuté de mon itinéraire avec Iris au préalable, et elle m'a recommandé des itinéraires légèrement différents et m'a envoyé les fichiers, qui étaient excellents. Si vous vous aventurez dans les collines autour des villes baroques, c'est un vélo fantastique au printemps, avec les fleurs sauvages qui poussent partout. J'ai cru comprendre qu'ils proposent aussi des visites guidées si vous préférez.

L'une des meilleures locations de vélo que j'aie jamais vécues. Je ne peux que le recommander.

The shop and staff were really awesome to work with. Iris was communicative and friendly helping us plan our trip. She’s clearly an avid and passionate cyclist who is very familiar with the popular cycling routes in Sicily. The touring bikes we rented were in excellent condition- they actually appeared to be brand new and were very comfortable. They adjusted the bikes for us and provided helmets, locks, bells and waterproof panniers (which we were very grateful for because it did rain!) They even offered us water bottles, but we had brought our own. In retrospect we should have also asked for lights but we forgot; I’m not sure if they provide them. I would bring my own if not as it’s important any night riding. Another thing I’d recommend to bring is a smartphone handlebar mount. They held our luggage for us, free of charge, for the duration of our rental. We highly recommend this outfit to anyone wanting to explore the area by bike. We rented for 3 days and did self-guided cycling

I took a fabulous bike ride with Maremonti Tours. I rode an amazing and beautiful 26 miles outside of Ortigia along the coast riding to Plemmiro. Helen was an excellent guide taking me on roads with gorgeous scenery of fields, hills and the Mediterranean Sea. We stopped in Ognina and also at a lighthouse, as well as a stop to get coffee and a pastry. I highly recommend Maremonti when you visit Siracusa. I can’t wait to go back and explore more areas with them.

Highly recommend including Maremonti Tours while planning your visit to Siracusa. We enjoyed a ride up the coast from Siracusa on beautiful Bianchi e-bikes. Our guide, Helen, picked us up at our hotel where our ride began through Ortigia to a bike trail north of the city. She patiently guided us along the waterfront while sharing points of interest and Siracusa history. By the time we stopped for coffee on the return, Helen was friend we'd met along our journey through Sicily. Perfect excursion for our last day of vacation.

We did a 80km tour around Siracuse, with a climb to Avola Antica. It was a very nice tour, with coffee stops and stories of the local agricultur and history.
The bikes are top-quality Bianchi. There was a selection of ebikes, gravel bikes and lots of other options.
I highly recommend this tour provider, very high quality equipment, superb communication and super friendly staff.

Wir kannten Sizilien nicht und sind mit unglaublich vielen Eindrücken heimgekommen. Iris erzählt viele spannende Details, die in keinem Führer stehen. Die Tour war abwechslungsreich, vom Meer über tolle Landschaften bis zu den Bergen - also genau das, was Maremonti verspricht- und genau auf unser Tempo abgestimmt. Die Gravel Bikes sind wie die eigenen - top gewartet und auf neuestem Stand. Am meisten haben mir die vielen unbekannten Ecken im Südosten Siziliens gefallen, zu denen man in so kurzer Zeit nur kommt, wenn man sich einen Tourguide leistet. Iris können wir jedenfalls wärmstens empfehlen. Wir kommen wieder und werden diesmal eine andere Tour in Angriff nehmen und diesmal mit dem E-Bike fahren, um noch mehr von dieser herrlichen Insel zu sehen. Tipp: nicht im Hochsommer kommen. Beste Reisezeit für eine Biketour ist im Frühjahr, wenn die Mandeln blühen und noch alles grün ist, oder im Herbst.
