Rented a bike here for the Stelvio pass. The bike was flawless and new. I was able to collect it the evening before so I could start the climb early in the morning.

I arrived with an unusual problem (rear derailleur position sensor misalignment) plus requiring a service. As it turns out I also had a mechanical issue with the front derailleur. I also hired a bike to ride the next day while my bike was it the shop. As luck (or bad luck) would have it I woke with a terrible head cold, chills and sweats, swollen glands, aching muscles etc. I took the hire bike back and went home and slept for 8 hours. I then went back to the shop to face more bad news. The problems couldn’t be fixed. I walked the head mechanic through a YouTube video of how to do the Position Sensor Reset and with a little patience he got the rear derailleur working. The front derailleur turned out to be a more mechanical issue (maybe not surprising given the number of plane and bus trips) so to get it fixed quickly I bought a new front derailleur. While expensive the mechanic (who might also be the owner) took off the price of the bike hire off the fee which I thought was very reasonable.

I want to commend him also for his calm and assured manner. When I pushed him to try again he was very happy to give it a go and I was so happy when it worked. He then took his time to tune the bike properly, change the chain and get the bike working great. Feels as good as new.

If you need a repair to your bike, look elsewhere in Bormio. After looking at the bike 3 times, still didn’t fix the issue while claiming they had and charging me for it. One of those times, claimed they’d fixed the issue in 10 minutes it had the bike all day and didn’t let me know. Very disappointing service

Vielen Dank an alle in eurem Team.

Consigliatissimi.
