Located in a gorgeous part of the Italian hills, this winery was stunning!
We really enjoyed the tour and the hosts couldn’t have been any more welcoming and friendly. The wine, cheese, chutney, olive oil and views were also all amazing!

Mi sento di raccomandare a chiunque quest’incredibile cantina; infatti, non offre una semplice degustazione, ma un’esperienza a 360° in un locus amoenus situato tra le colline della Valpolicella classica.
Appena arrivati alla tenuta, siamo stati accolti dalla gentilezza della famiglia Campagnola e dall’eccellente staff, che ci ha accompagnati in un tour tra i vigneti e le cantine, spiegando con dovizia di particolari i vini di loro produzione e la loro lavorazione. Dopodiché, ci siamo accomodati al tavolo a noi riservato sul patio esterno con vista panoramica e lì è iniziata l’esperienza enogastronomica. Abbiamo degustato diversi vini, accompagnati da un ricco tagliere di formaggi e affettati locali e, a completare, dell’ottimo pane e olio, sempre di loro produzione. I prodotti di qualità, l’eccezionalità e la gentilezza del team hanno reso questa giornata indimenticabile.
Consiglio vivamente la Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde a chiunque voglia dedicarsi del tempo lontano dalla frenesia urbana, immergendosi nella dolce quiete che questo luogo suggestivo, tra cinguettii di rondini e la semplicità della natura, sa donare.

We found this opportunity to experience truffle hunting with no expectation of how it would go. We were warmly welcomed into the hilltop family winery in the beautiful Valpollicello Classico region in the hills above Verona, near Lago di Garda. Ilaria took us into the ancient woodlands with her two truffle detecting dogs who went straight to work. In the next 2 hours we learnt to read the dogs’ detection signs and scrape away the soil and pick out our prize. Literally dozens of pungent walnut- sized black truffles were unearthed by our party of two dogs and 10 guests under Ilaria’s skilful guidance and while learning about the ecology of the woodlands. Returning to the winery, our truffles were used to make a beautiful pasta dish and we shaved the fresh truffle on top. Tasting and learning about the Valpollicella wines and the revered Amarone with the pasta made a perfect end to the day, overlooking the hillside from the terrace.

A truly special winery! We visited for a wine tasting for the second time and fell in love all over again. The setting, the wine, and—above all—Ilaria and Nicola make this place something very special. The passion behind their work is evident everywhere: in the vineyards, in the wine cellar, and in every detail of the beautiful estate. The family-like atmosphere, the time dedicated to guests, and the love for wine make the visit an unforgettable experience. We‘re already looking forward to the next time!

I definitely recommend here. From start to finish the ‘Discover Valpolicella Vineyards and Wine Tasting Experience’ we did was nothing short of brilliant. The passion, the care, the knowledge and the friendliness of the staff were great. The vineyard, its location/views and the wine/food were amazing and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Every wine was delicious, we even ended up asking if we could buy a bottle to continue enjoying it later. You’ll not regret your choice to visit.

We first discovered this winery six years ago, and we’ve been coming back whenever we get the chance.
What we love most is that it’s a small, family-run winery—not one of those huge estates with endless underground cellars. It has so much character and such a special vibe.
Sitting on the terrace, surrounded by breathtaking views, enjoying excellent wine and delicious local snacks, it’s easy to forget about everything else and simply savor the moment.
Every visit is a reminder of why we keep coming back: the warm hospitality and wonderful atmosphere that Ilaria and her family create make this place truly unforgettable. Thank youuuuu and see you again when our Amarone is gone! 🤣😜

What a delightful way to spend half a day in Valpolicella. Our lovely host Claudia showed us the vineyards and the cellars then shared a variety of olive oils from different parts of Italy - who knew they could taste so different!

And of course we had the full selection of Valpolicella wines made by Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde. I learnt that by chilling down the Valpolicella, it made some of the wines more approachable and I definitely appreciated trying the full range. Thank you again for your hospitality. I would certainly recommend a visit.

Our visit to Tenuta Santa Maria Valverde was one of the highlights of our stay in Valpolicella. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality by the owners, who personally showed us around their beautiful family winery and shared its history and traditions.

A special thank you to Ilaria, who is an exceptional host. Her kindness, passion, and attention to every detail made us feel truly welcome and at home.

The winery is set in a breathtaking location, with spectacular views over the vineyards and the Valpolicella hills. We especially enjoyed the terrace overlooking the vineyards, where we could fully appreciate the beauty of the landscape while tasting the wines.

The Amarone tasting was outstanding, particularly the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva 2015, which left a lasting impression on us. Combined with delicious local food, excellent wines, and the authentic atmosphere of a family-run estate, the experience was great.

If you are looking for a true Valpolicella wine experience, this is the place to visit. We highly recommend it and hope to return again soon. 🍷❤️
