I recently completed an 8-day cycling tour through Puglia, travelling from Alberobello to Lecce, and the entire experience was exceptional. From the initial introduction and bike drop-off to the daily routes and overall organisation, everything was well planned and easy to follow — perfect for someone with basic cycling experience.
The scenery along the way was stunning, and the routes offered a great balance of iconic tourist highlights and authentic local charm. While the famous Trulli towns, Ostuni, and Monopoli were wonderful to visit, one of the most memorable moments was spending a relaxed evening in the small town of Martano. Sitting in the town square on a warm Friday evening, watching the locals enjoy their night, was a refreshing and genuine change of pace.
The accommodation throughout the trip exceeded my expectations, especially as a solo traveller. I was prepared for simple single rooms, but the B&Bs were exceptional, and the hosts were welcoming and attentive.
The bike supplied — a Specialized Diverge Carbon gravel bike — was a perfect fit and ideal for the mixed terrain. I would not have opted for a road bike, as some sections included gravel and light off-road tracks.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience and a true highlight of my travels in October 2025. I highly recommend Puglia Cycling and this tour to anyone considering exploring the region on two wheels.

I was visiting Puglia from San Francisco and interested in a legit road ride in the region. I made arrangements with Puglia Cycling to have a road bike ready for me on a specific day and time using email.. Emmanuela was extremely helpful and communicative, locking in every detail with me (e.g., date, time, bike type, bike size, tire size, etc.). At my request, she provided me with a 50-mile ride through the most scenic areas with a gpx file I could upload to Strava and my Garmin device. Emmanuela was also very responsive when I had to change the date of my planned ride last minute. On the ground, she made special arrangements with me to pick up bicycle early, before opening time, so that I could avoid the hottest part of the day. On the morning of the ride, I showed up to meet her colleague for final bike set up details including changing seat height, etc. Pepino was also super resourceful when I noticed that my Garmin had lost its charge on the flight over. He gave me a portable USB charging device to place in a handlebar bag to power my Garmin for the road, so that I would have turn by turn directions. Life saver. The bike was in perfect mechanical condition, like new. It came with a saddle bag with all the necessary supplies (multitool, patch kit, spare tube). The bike had two water bottle cages and a mini pump. The handlebar bag had a cable lock (which actually came in handy) for a cafe stop. The route was everything I'd hoped for: scenic, light car traffic, challenging for half day. It navigated an established Italian bicycle route and the Via Francigena. I wholeheartedly endorse Puglia Cycling. Thanks to them for an extraordinary experience.

I rented a carbon endurance road bike from Puglia Cycling for two days while in Polignano a Mare. Very reasonable prices for a well maintained and high quality bike. They provide everything you need to including a lock, patch kit, seat and handlebar bag, multitool, and a water bottle at no extra charge. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Fantastic service. My wife and I rented 2 carbon road bikes for a day trip on our honeymoon. Emanuela was very responsive and attentive, the equipment was great and they provided a clear GPS route for us to follow.

We did the 45 mile trip to Alberobello and Monopoly, stopping for breakfast and lunch in each place - a stunning route with all the hard work in the first half of the journey. Would very much recommend it!

This review took time to complete, but that’s because we wanted to get it right. Our experience with Puglia Cycling was amazing! When we booked this bike tour company, they were very flexible and accommodating with what we wanted to do. We were looking for a bike company to provide us with good quality bikes and panniers so we could do a self guided eight day ride around Puglia, the “heel of the boot”. We wanted to book our own accommodations and design our own coastal route. They were very open to our plans and their fees were very reasonable. The bikes were top notch and in great condition. We are bike mechanics & avid cyclists, you can tell they really care about providing great equipment. Now for what made our tour so special, Gaetano! He was a wonderful surprise to our experience. He provided the utmost support & care. We ran into him our second day while in Trulli. He was busy at work delivering luggage for other guests, but made time to check on how things were going. What a nice, friendly smile and familiar face to see. We chatted some and he gave us some great ideas to see during our ride through his countryside. He suggested we try Bombette, now one of our favorites! We have enjoyed this dish often during our 75 days in Europe. Some roads in Puglia can be a bit rough. We developed a small cut in one of our tires but we were still able to ride after a quick tube change. Gaetano was quick to meet us at our next apartment rental that evening to switch out the whole back wheel, super quick like they do in the tour! He also brought us extra tubes. His care and support throughout our ride provided us with peace of mind. Riding 8 days and living out of panniers in this region was an amazing experience only made better by the great quality bikes and personalized service. We didn’t just have a fantastic tour, we now have a lifelong friend! We are always happy to meet a “bike geek” like us-

Wonderful service, mapping, bikes and coordination. Had a great experience that Emanuela helped coordinate riding in Puglia w some bag transport and drop offs and it was seamless. Less travelled routes between cities and great suggestions along the way. Used garmin and phone w shokz headphones and worked beautifully. Highly recommend their services. My wife had hybrid, I had road bike and did 50-65k/ day seeing these enchanting cities. Great experience.

I hired a bike from Puglia cycling on a 5 day stay in polignano - very handy - just a quick walk from the old town - got a good bike with 32mm tyres - which given the roads were just right! Emanuela very flexible with pick up and drop off so I got maximum time to cycle.
Highly recommend - they do all different bike types - and worth it for some of the places around there!

My partner and I had an excellent rental experience at Puglia Cycling while visiting Polignano a Mare. We were able to rent a couple nice bicycles despite short notice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. They recommended some great routes and even other shops for some extra/forgotten clothing.
