We rented some hiking poles from here for 3 days. The polls they gave us were in great condition and very high quality, and we felt the price was very reasonable. Staff was very friendly and in general, the place looked to have very nice, high quality equipment available. We would definitely rent from here again!

What a terrible experience. I booked two full-suspension e-mountain bikes for a 5 day hut-to-hut trek that I had spent months planning. I emailed my route to Due&Due to ensure they understood that my husband and I were traveling over 170 km during the course of the rental, including advanced, technical downhill and singletrack.
My husband and I are avid mountain bikers- we have biked in multiple countries and states. Based on how everything happened with the rental, though, my guess is Due&Due typically caters to non-biker tourists who simply bike around town.
Upon arriving at Due&Due Cortina, we were basically ignored. After finally getting the attention of a staff member, we were brought to our bikes. My husband's bike was not the one that we had booked- it was older and therefore had less power and fewer features (not ideal for nearly 11,000 m of ascending needed for the trip). My bike was as expected, with the exception that it wasn't properly set up for my height and weight, which I had included when I made the reservation.
When I asked about the tire pressure it was currently set at, the service staff member (curly dark hair- I didn't get his name) responded, "It doesn't matter. Don't change it." Apparently he isn't aware that depending on the terrain and whether you are ascending or descending, one should adapt the pressure accordingly. "What is the suspension set at?" I asked. I received the same response. My bike was incredibly rigid and the suspension hardly compressed under my weight. He also didn't check the sag or anything else in regards to the bike fit. In addition, my brakes needed to be bled, something I didn't realize until our first descent the next day. The levers pulled all the way to the grips. Daily, I had to pump the brakes levers to get them to better engage.
My husband's bike had nearly bare tires that badly needed to be replaced. This is unsafe for the downhill we had planned to do. The grips on the handlebars were completely worn down and peeling off- not at all ready for the jarring trails we were about to encounter.
While getting on my bike for the first time, my foam flip flop hit the top tube. The staff member started yelling at me that I had scratched the frame. Do you know how hard it is to scratch a carbon FRAME with foam? Was there small scuff that wiped off? Yes, and I still apologized profusely. Scratched frame? Absolutely not.
His reaction was severe and harsh- he refused to work with us any more and went inside, leaving me feeling completely baffled. At this point, we didn't even want to touch the bikes for fear of his reaction if something went wrong. We took an insane amount of photos of the bikes before leaving the shop, as we were highly concerned we would get charged upon return for anything that wasn't documented. The entire trip, we were paranoid about it.
All in all, we spent nearly 1,000 EUR to be ignored, belittled, and verbally abused all while leaving the shop with bikes that weren't even properly set up for our trip. It was a terrible experience that impacted our holiday greatly.
Save yourself the headache and rent somewhere else.
Good morning Madam,
first of all, we are very sorry to read about your negative experience, and we would like to sincerely apologize.
We checked our database again and, based on your name, your rental started on July 20th. Since almost a month and a half has now passed, it is unfortunately difficult for us to reconstruct every detail of the booking and handover process with complete accuracy, especially considering the high number of customers we serve during the season. Had we received your feedback earlier, we would certainly have been able to investigate the matter immediately and take action.
After reviewing your rental record, we can confirm that you were provided with two different bicycles, both of which belong to a very high-end category.
One was a Specialized Turbo Levo Gen 4, worth approximately €6,500, which was added to our rental fleet in the first days of June. The other bicycle, which you described as older, was indeed from the previous season, but it was a Specialized Turbo Levo Gen 3 with a carbon frame, worth approximately €8,700. It had only been used during the previous season and was equipped with a Brose motor delivering 90 Nm of torque and a 750 Wh battery. It is therefore a bicycle with excellent battery capacity and range, as well as a particularly powerful and high-performing motor. It was certainly a model from the previous generation, but it was by no means an old bicycle or one of inferior quality.
All of our bicycles are regularly maintained, checked and inspected after each rental, and any components showing an unacceptable level of wear are routinely replaced. That said, we do not in any way doubt what you reported regarding the condition of the tire on one of the bicycles and the condition of the brake on the other, and we are sorry that these issues may have escaped our checks.
What we particularly regret is that, considering this was a six-day rental, the issue was not brought to our attention at the end of the first day. We would certainly have listened to your concerns and could have immediately carried out further adjustments or, if necessary, replaced the bicycles altogether. This would have allowed us to resolve the problem straight away and, most importantly, improve your experience for the remainder of your holiday.
Regarding the behavior of our staff member, if he came across as rude or unhelpful towards you, there are no excuses, and on behalf of the entire staff we sincerely apologize. Without wishing to justify what happened in any way, it is possible that, in some situations, a language barrier may have made the communication less clear or more abrupt than our staff member intended. This, of course, does not change the fact that every customer should always feel listened to and treated with courtesy and helpfulness.
We are therefore very sorry that we did not have the opportunity to intervene directly during your stay.
Should you return to Cortina in the future, we would be very happy to welcome you again and have the opportunity to make up for what happened, while providing you with the best possible service, as we strive to do every day through high-end bicycles, careful maintenance and qualified staff.
Kind regards.
