I rented four dual suspension e-bikes from this shop for a full day on the trails. The bikes performed adequately at first, but my battery was depleted by around 2:30pm, well short of a full day’s riding.
When I returned to the store and asked for replacement battery , the manager, Andreas, was very dismissive. He insisted there was “more than enough battery to ride all day” and refused to provide any assistance.
In addition, all four bikes had their tyres inflated far too high for gravel trails, making them twitchy and difficult to control. When I mentioned this to the staff member (an Aussie guy), he seemed unaware of appropriate tyre pressures for the terrain.
Unfortunately, this experience aligns with a common theme in other recent reviews: if you encounter any issues with the bikes, support is minimal or non-existent. In a competitive bike rental market, this level of service is disappointing. My riding day was cut short, and we received no meaningful help.
I wouldn’t recommend renting here. There are better options nearby that actually stand behind their rentals.

Had a disappointing experience renting e-bikes from this shop.

The bikes themselves were fine, but the customer service and advice we received were well below expectations. As a first-time e-bike rider, I specifically explained that I had no prior experience and asked for recommendations for an easy, safe route. I also asked whether it would be better to ride around Alpe di Siusi at the top and bring the e-bike back down by cable car.

The staff assured me that riding all the way down the mountain was safe and straightforward, describing the route as having only a few short gravel sections and suggesting it would take approximately two hours. In reality, a large portion of the descent consisted of steep, loose gravel forest trails that were challenging and slippery for inexperienced riders. The route ended up taking significantly longer than indicated (closer to 5–6 hours).

We also asked for guidance on how to load the bikes onto the gondola. Rather than providing a simple explanation, the staff responded in a condescending manner and pointed us to the entrance sign, making us feel as though our question was unreasonable.

When customers rent equipment and ask for advice, they are relying on the expertise of the staff. Unfortunately, we were met with misinformation, a dismissive attitude and poor customer service. While the bikes were fine, the overall experience left a very negative impression.

Overall the service at Bamby bike rental was excellent. We managed to walk in and rent bikes on the day.

The weather was unpredictable so when we had a nice clear day we took advantage to rent bikes to experience Alpe Di Siuse route 213.

Location by the cable car entrance and the rental comes with free cable cars ride for your bikes.

The rental was busy and we were lucky to get the last large bike with full suspension and the second bike had to be a medium frame.

Only thing that was strange neither bikes had stands. Some of their bikes had stands but not the ones we were allocated.

On return the assistant even found it strange that the bike did not have a stand.

We did the full circuit and highly recommend. The bikes must be back by 17:30 which is completely achievable.

Electric bikes was brilliant as it opened an experience we otherwise would not have had as there are serious steep hills and a little help is definitely needed.

Highly recommended Bamby bike rental also recommended that you book online ahead of time to get the better quality bikes.

Renting an e bike and instructions for an Aussie couple (1st timers) Alp Di Siusi the best service and clear instructions. Quality mountain bikes - the best experience. At the base of the gondola no need to go anyway else.

Terrible experience with bike rental. A few miles into the ride my entire pedal fell off and I had to ride down a steep hill several miles to get it fixed. When I went to the shop that Bamby works with, he had called ahead of time to tell them to charge me for the broken pedal since I waived insurance. If the bike had crashed, sure, I could see why I would be at fault but this is just a poorly maintained bike that fell apart on me. He did end up covering the cost but the audacity to try and pin it on me is ridiculous. The dropper post for the seat also was incredibly difficult to move up and down. It needs lubricant. And the brakes and front tire were worn and it felt unsafe to be riding downhill.

Unfortunately they don't take the safety of their bikes seriously. We had a great day on e-bikes today, however one bike had an issue which was intermittent brake failure ( not soft brakes or gradual fade, but a complete failure of crucial rear brake at times) . On a steep downhill, this is obviously not great.
On returning the bike we informed the staff so they could check it and make it safe for the next user. They were in total denial that there was a problem, and immediately blamed me as the rider, not knowing how to use the brakes.
I hope the next user of this bike doesn't get seriously hurt.
