I used Tuscany Bicycle during 5 days in the Chianti region of Italy. I was looking for a high performance road bike that was suitable for the rolling roads and strade bianchi (gravel roads) of the region.

I would highly recommend Tuscany Bicycle and, if you are a serious cyclist, the beautiful yet challenging terrain of the region.

1. The bike was excellent (Scott Addict RC30): it was in great condition, it was light (c.7.5kg) and had excellent tyres (high performance, low wear and wide/32mm).
2. Service: Luca and Marco at Tuscany Bicycle were responsive and flexible. When I needed to adjust pick up and drop off times they were very accommodating making it a stress free experience.
3. Good value for money: I’ve hired road bikes all over Europe and Tuscany Bicycle offers excellent value for money.

As a 50 year bicycle industry veteran I do a lot of bicycle related vacations. Please know I celebrate cycling wherever I go.

My first interaction was with the most wonderful Elizabeth who I had a great rapport with, each wanting to meet the other. There is a sadness that won’t happen any time soon.

Now, 10 days before our start date, a number of events occurred. Primarily my father in-law went into hospice, another member was hit by a car and the last straw was a daughter was hospitalized. Now I fully understand that there was an explanation of our arrival.

At this point we had to cancel and we had been planning the trip for over a year. Not once did we ask for a refund, just consideration for 2027. Anything would have been welcomed, but nothing was considered. No refund or credit even for the $100 delivery charge that was never performed.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am not angry, just terribly disappointed in the lack of understanding of a situation out of our control.

I can't say enough about Tuscany Bicycle. From the time I inquired about a bike until the time we were done they were so helpful and always communicated. They even followed up when I had not yet committed to the bicycle. We had only rented the bikes we did not do a tour. Marco could not have been a more fabulous help to us and showed us a map of the area when we decided to do the castles. That was his suggestion. We actually did not realize how many castles were in the area. What a great idea for a self tour. He even suggested a place for lunch and it was awesome. The E bikes were in great shape, great brand and I felt very safe on them. They were very easy to use. I would highly recommend them for your trip to the Tuscany region.
